Add or remove blacklisted countries

Introduction

The Country Blacklist feature enables you to blacklist specific countries, preventing those countries' users from accessing your games. You can set which countries will be blacklisted in your games that are managed in your publisher namespace in the AccelByte Gaming Services (AGS) Admin Portal.

Prerequisites

• Ensure you have access to the AGS Admin Portal.

• Ensure that you have the following permissions.

Add a blacklisted country

1. In the AGS Admin Portal, go to your publisher namespace, then go to User Management > Countries. On the Countries page, you will see two lists: "Available Countries" and "Blacklisted Countries." The Available Countries list show all the countries that you can add to the Blacklisted Countries list.
2. In the Available Countries list, you can scroll through the list or type in the exact name of the countries you want to blacklist.
3. Tick the checkbox or click on the name of the countries you want to blacklist.
4. After selecting the countries you want to blacklist, click the right arrow (>) button to move the selected countries to the Blacklisted Countries list. Users from the newly blacklisted countries will immediately be prevented from creating a new account or signing in to your game.

note

• Blacklisted countries will be removed from the Country Information field in both the registration form and profile update form.
• Users from the blacklisted countries with existing accounts in your game will immediately be blocked from accessing their account.
• AGS only looks at a user's country information stored in their profile to determine whether they can access your game or not. A user who signs in with an IP address from a blacklisted country but has a non-blacklisted country in their profile information will still be able to access their account.

Remove a blacklisted country

To blacklist a country, follow these steps:

1. In the AGS Admin Portal, go to your publisher namespace, then go to User Management > Countries. On the Countries page, you will see two lists: "Available Countries" and "Blacklisted Countries." The Blacklisted Countries list show all the countries that you can remove and add back to the Available Countries list.
2. In the Blacklisted Countries list, you can scroll through the list or type in the exact name of the countries you want to remove.
3. Tick the checkbox or click on the name of the countries you want to remove from the Blacklisted Countries list.
4. After selecting the countries you want to blacklist, click the left arrow (<) button to move the selected countries to the Available Countries list. Users from the selected countries will immediately be allowed to access your game.

note

• Countries that have been removed from the Blacklisted Countries list will immediately be available for selection in the registration and profile update forms.
• Users from the countries that have been removed from the Blacklisted Countries list will be able to register for a new account. If they have existing accounts, they can sign in again and update their profile.
